The locker is a section of Fortnite’s main hub where players can customize their character in a variety of ways, from the glider used to fly to the island on, to the wraps on weapons, to even the music that plays in the main lobby. The main attraction of this feature, however, is customizing what character skin fans would like to play as, with crossover potential galore as seen with characters like Vi and Jinx from Netflix’s Arcane appearing on the island earlier this week.

There are drawbacks to how the locker function works in terms of its presentation and accounting for how much variety Fortnite has offered its players in terms of customization. To show how to solve this issue, Reddit user Ponzip posted a video concept to r/FortNiteBR, showcasing how to streamline the locker settings, both in arranging a player’s preset characters to their liking, and even deleting multiple presets at a time.
So far, the post sits with a 98% upvote ratio on the site, with people in the comment section raving about the idea, claiming that Epic Games should take notice and implement similar changes. Epic takes great lengths to update Fortnite on a weekly basis, such as balance changes to several of Fortnite’s weapons, but it has been some time since a noticeable change to the game’s UI has been made in a meaningful way.
It’s not hard to look at the changes Ponzip has made to the UI and see how this could benefit Fortnite going forward. The easy functionality and sleek presentation of this new preset design makes a lot of sense and could make switching between characters like Boba Fett or the recently released Hawkeye that much easier.
While many players would rather have Epic Games focus its attention on the actual gameplay, it would still be nice to see changes to the game’s UI take a route similar to what is on display here. Though with how insane Fortnite has become with its emphasis on crossover characters and it’s crazy deep lore, it may be awhile until Epic decides to put changes like these into effect.
Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
