Weekly quests would always be around for the entirety of the season, they were season-long tasks just like Fortnite Milestone Goals. Until Epic Games decided to make them temporary at the start of Chapter 4 Season 1. This meant that players either had to get through all the quests within a week of their release, or they would miss out on receiving the much-needed XP.

The change mostly received negative feedback from the Fortnite community. It made weekly quests much more difficult than they were before, and it certainly added more pressure to get through them. Epic Games has now taken care of this controversy with update v23.30 and made it, so weekly quests would stick around until the very end of the season. Unfortunately, weekly quests that were already made unavailable will not be returning, but it’s great to know that they won’t disappear after the update.
It is unknown why Epic Games decided to make weekly quests temporary; perhaps it was due to the fact that some players wouldn’t complete them all season long, and then they’d get through them in a flash before the season came to an end. Finishing all weekly quests was especially difficult for players who either had work or school and couldn’t play as often as they would have liked. This obviously discouraged people with less free time from purchasing the Battle Pass and forced them to find all sorts of exploits to complete Fortnite quests.
This season might’ve started on the wrong foot; there were a few glitches and bugs with certain gameplay mechanics, and some of the changes made weren’t appreciated by all of the game’s fans, but now it seems that Epic Games is finally fixing what needed to be fixed after listening to player feedback. Hopefully, there won’t be any more controversies surrounding future game updates, and everyone will be able to fully enjoy the rest of Chapter 4 Season 1.
