Yesterday the newest Tenet trailer debuted in Fortnite. The jaw-dropping trailer shows that Tenet looks to be right in line with Nolan’s ambitious and emotionally powerful films like Interstellar and Inception. Debuting a trailer for one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters inside of a video game is different enough, but apparently an entire Nolan film is headed to the Fortnite screen, according to a Tweet by Geoff Keighley.

Nolan has supplanted himself as one of the foremost directors of his generation. His movies think outside of the box by implementing outlandish ideas in believable ways. Tenet tackles reverse time travel, or inversion, with the backdrop of international espionage. With how unique his films are, perhaps its not surprising after all that Nolan would debut a trailer and have one of his films viewable inside of Fortnite.

There is no info yet as to what Nolan film could be on the way, with some confusion initially even pointing to the idea that it could be Tenet itself. Because of the Coronavirus, movies like Scoob! have skipped the theater entirely and gone straight to streaming services. But it would certainly be surprising to see Tenet released both in standard theaters and inside of Fortnite. So the film could be a movie like The Prestige, Dunkirk, or even something from Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

Fortnite is no stranger to massive crossovers and events. The battle royale has hosted multiple lore-themed events, and just last month a live Travis Scott concert was viewable inside of Fortnite. The Travis Scott show wasn’t even the first of its kind, as a Marshmello concert kicked off these types of shows last year. Perhaps many more movies like Nolan’s are on the way.

2020 has been quite the unique year, and companies have had to alter their thought process to try to continue to stay afloat. Robert Patterson’s Batman film was delayed earlier this year, for example, and Patterson is also starring in Nolan’s Tenet. At this point, Tenet seems to be on track for the summer release in the theaters. But if by chance folks are still stuck at home, they may still be able to watch one of Nolan’s films inside of Fortnite in the interim.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
