What perhaps caught some fans hook, line, and sinker is the fact Ash’s journey is coming to an end in the Pokemon anime. At the end of January, Ash’s final Pokemon episodes will debut, with many fans speculating about what will happen outside a few confirmed returns, such as Brock and Misty. Sometime after that, the new Pokemon anime will begin with a brand new character in Paldea, though many also speculate this new protagonist is Ash’s daughter. It’s an emotional time for Pokemon fans no matter what, and because of that, it would be awesome to see Ash in Fortnite.

The trailer kicks off with Peely riding around on a dirt bike before seeing Ash and Pikachu. Ash throws out Charizard who uses a fireball to destroy a nearby semi-truck; at first glance, the trailer is totally believable. However, upon closer inspection, the quality difference between Peely, Ash, Charizard, and perhaps especially Pikachu stands out. It should be noted that, just because this particular Fortnite x Pokemon crossover isn’t legit, this doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen. One of the most defining features for Fortnite is its crossovers, having done so for brands like Marvel and Star Wars in the past, and Pokemon would definitely be a worthwhile choice.

Not only would there be plenty of choices for skins, back bling, gliders, pickaxes, and so on, but it would be interesting to see if Poke balls were added to the game as a special item. They would easily work like something seen in the FeraalsVFX trailer or something akin to the Poke balls in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Using it could summon a random, time-limited companion, similar to the hires around the Battle Island, and a few choices could add some fun and variety to it all.

At the same time, there is one thing that would likely stop such a crossover. The Pokemon Company probably wouldn’t be happy with Fortnite players shooting its creatures, but there are certainly workarounds if the companies are willing to sit at the table. Unfortunately, for now, there’s no Pokemon crossover officially coming to Fortnite.

Fortnite is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
