Forza Horizon 5is an online-only open-world racing game, so it would make sense to let players play with friends. However, this was not the case until June 2022. Since it is now possible to play through the story with other players easily, they should know how much that impacts gameplay. Here’s how players can get a better grasp of what they can do with friends in Forza Horizon 5.
5 Six Player Co-op
One of the best things featured in the latest update is not just the addition of co-op itself, but how co-op works as well. In Forza Horizon 5 going through long races with friends gives the game a better feel. Since the biggest change in the update is the six-player co-op, this allows players to do all solo missions with a convoy. This is a really cool aspect, since players can challenge their friends with some of the fastest cars in the game.
This allows players to do things easily now they have friends with them. Plus, going through the beautiful landscape of Mexico with other players makes Forza Horizon 5 more immersive. The main benefit of having up to six players in one convoy is that it can be easier to play, especially when races are objective-based. This makes players more competitive, and in turn, makes things fun.
4 Base Game Stories
While it’s now possible to play stories with friends, gamers should note that there are no new campaign missions. This may seem repetitive, but in fact, the existing missions play out better with friends. Some of these stories are rather hard, and players who solo them will probably get lower scores. However, by going in and doing those missions with friends, players can achieve more and get more wheelspins, which will allow them to save money.

As mentioned before, Forza Horizon 5’s campaign can be difficult, but it’s also quite fun to play with its outlandish races. Taking friends along makes racing even more engaging and memorable, and boosts the social aspect of Forza Horizon 5.
3 Convoy Doesn’t Split Up
Initially, when players would play races with friends and then go back into the main section of Forza Horizon 5, the convoy would split up. However, with this new update, that doesn’t happen anymore. Now, as soon as players finish a race and head back into the main world, the convoy stays. This makes the game even more immersive, which is a big selling point of Forza Horizon 5, and in turn, makes it a great open-world racing game.
This also makes it easier to play co-op in general, because rather than splitting up and forcing players to go to another event and invite their friends again, it’s more streamlined. Plus, if players create their own challenges in the real world, like going cross-country in some of the best cars, then co-op works even better. Forza Horizon 5 does that in the best way possible, by seamlessly taking the convoy from a race to the open world.
2 Everyone Gets Points
With the current co-op system, as long as one player does excellently, others will still pass even if they fail to meet the criteria. This allows players to try things they’re not good at, like drag racing, and get rewards for it. Even if players have the best drag cars in Forza Horizon 5, they may have issues, so having a friend that is good in this area will go a long way. As mentioned before, since there aren’t any new campaign missions, players can still achieve better points with the old ones.

This allows them to get better things like cars, clothes, and more garages. The best part when playing on the harder difficulties is that even though players fail, they’ll still get the points, provided one player has done everything.
1 Progress Carries Over
Many players have been curious about how much progress carries over from the co-op to single player mode. The good news is that all the progress that players have made with their friends will carry over. This means that the campaign missions that players have done in co-op are now unlocked, so that players can do them in solo mode as well.
Before, players would need to unlock it in solo mode in order to host it or play it. Now, players can join in a race that the host has unlocked, and when players go back to the solo mode, that race will be unlocked for them. This makes it easier for new players or those who are stuck at certain points. Getting help from friends allows progression to be more fluid and consistent.
