The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have screens that support 90Hz and 120Hz respectively, and now Fortnite players on either device will see the framerate rise up to 90fps to make the most out of those faster, smoother screens. A 90Hz refresh rate means that the screen refreshes, or updates, 90 times each second, making it harder for your eyes to notice any juddering or jerking. With this update, the Fortnite app will now output 90 frames per second too, meaning you get the full benefit of the effect, rather than relying on the phone itself to ‘upscale’ the image itself....
Epic announced remote explosives for Fortnite on Twitter with an image of how they will appear in the game and teasing that they can be used “from a distance.” It’s unclear at this point how far players will be able to use remote explosives, but either way, it sounds like they could be useful in setting deadly traps for unsuspecting opponents. Epic also failed to clarify when exactly fans can expect remote explosives to actually be added to the game....
According to the latest patch notes for Fortnite, there is now a “short equip time” for many weapons in the game. The goal of this change, according to Epic, is to “reduce the effectiveness of quickly switching between weapons for high burst damage.” The affected weapon types are Rocket Launchers, Hand Cannons, Revolvers, Tactical Shotguns, Pump Shotguns, Heavy Shotguns, Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles, Hunting Rifles, and Crossbows.
