Speaking of EA games, today also brings Star Wars: Squadrons to the service for both Xbox consoles and PC. The first game to be solely developed by EA’s Motive Studios (which so far had only assisted with development on Star Wars Battlefront 2), it puts players in control of both the New Republic and the Galactic Empire and take part in space dogfights. Featuring both multiplayer and an option to experience flying a ship in VR, it joins Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as another solid Star Wars game from EA....

The originally battle royale focused game, Fortnite, has managed to separate itself from its competition with its unique building mechanics, challenges, and events that have resulted in a great deal of success. While this event did not break the concurrent player record like the recent Travis Scott event, those who missed the concert may now consider visiting the Party Royale side of the game more frequently to see future content....

Before Season 7 can wrap up, Fortnite players have a chance to grab a lot of Battle Pass XP by completing a few quests and challenges that have gone live a few hours ago. Epic Games added the Island Games in the final update of the season, v17.50. There are a total of 16 quests for Fortnite players to complete and multiple cosmetic rewards on the line. Players will also earn a ton of XP that will help them push their Battle Pass progress in the last lap of Season 7....

The leak comes from YouTuber Tabor Hill. Tabor has proven reliable in the past, as he is known for accurately leaking several key details on Fortnite Season 3, including the Aquaman Skin, flood theme, and the ability to ride sharks. Tabor says he gets his information from an inside source at Epic Games. Bottle Rockets will be an Uncommon item that shoots a large number of rockets in a targeted direction. Players set the Bottle Rockets down in front of them and then they are able to continue moving while the rockets fire in a continuous arc. A short trailer for the item provides an example of the Bottle Rockets capability for destruction, as three players can set the item down surrounding a building and see it torn to shreds in a matter of seconds....

As detailed in the latest Update 7 blog post by Epic Games, Wraps are new items that allow players to change the style of some of their favorite weapons and items while playing Fortnite Battle Royale. So far, it appears that wraps are tied directly to the season 7 battle pass, having to be first unlocked by hitting specific tiers. Once unlocked, wraps can then be equipped from inside the player’s locker alongside other unlocked items such as skins, backblings, gliders, and the other personalization items....

The new Combat Shotgun is semi-automatic, holds 10 shells, and fires 9 pellets at 73/77/81 base damage. Its headshot multiplayer is 1.7, and it will be available in Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants. The Tactical Shotgun received a buff in base damage, whereas the Boom Bow was reduced in availability by about 10%. Fortnite also unvaulted the standard grenade.
